Is Digicity free?
Yes. Open Build, the sandbox, is free and complete: every tool, every building and the whole map, with no timers, no energy meters and no ads. What is for sale is Saving ($9.99), Scenario mode one era at a time ($1.99 each), and Ultimate ($19.99), which is saving and every era, present and future. None of it is a subscription and none of it expires. Prices are in US dollars; the App Store shows your local price. Scenario mode and Ultimate go on sale with Digicity 26.9; Open Build and Saving are available now.
Which devices does Digicity run on?
iPhone with iOS 26.0 or later, iPad with iPadOS 26.0 or later, and Mac with macOS 26.0 or later on an Apple M1 chip or later. It is one App Store download for all of them. iPhone needs Digicity 26.9 or later, which is what the App Store gives you.
Does Digicity run on an Intel Mac?
No. On Mac, Digicity needs Apple silicon: an M1 chip or later, running macOS 26.0 or later.
Can I play Digicity in portrait on iPhone?
No. On iPhone the game plays in landscape only. It is the whole game rather than a trimmed one, laid out for a screen held sideways.
What happens to my city if I do not buy Saving?
The free game cannot save. If you close Digicity, or the system reclaims its memory while you are in another app, the city is gone and cannot be recovered. The game tells you this before you build anything. Saving, a one-time purchase, lets you save cities from the game's menu and load them later. There is no autosave, so anything since your last save is lost if the app is closed.
What is Scenario mode?
A second way to play. You found a city around an anchor (a port, a university or a hospital) and play it forward through four eras from 1900. Each era changes the rules rather than just the date, and report cards in 1930, 1970 and 2010 grade what you actually built. Eras are sold one at a time and played in order, starting with The Rail Era, or all together in Ultimate, which also covers the eras still to come. Scenario mode and Ultimate go on sale with Digicity 26.9; Open Build and Saving are available now.
Does Digicity need an internet connection or an account?
No. There is no account and no sign-in, and no network is needed to play. Purchases go through the App Store.
Does Digicity collect my data or show ads?
There are no ads and no analytics in the game. Purchases are processed by Apple, and the game checks what you own with RevenueCat using an anonymous ID, so your unlocks can be restored. Your cities stay on your device, or in your own iCloud if you turn that on.
Is Digicity accessible with VoiceOver?
Digicity is built with VoiceOver labels on its controls, and keyboard shortcuts throughout, including the space bar to pause. It has not been through a full VoiceOver audit, so if a screen does not read the way it should, tell us at asc.is/support and we will fix it.
